"Window offset problem in Opera" deleted?

I posted a question about having a lot of whitespace on the right side of the screen and my post was deleted. I see another thread with the same question and it is now locked (at least with an explanation that it is being worked on.) Why was my thread deleted? Why wasn't I at least notified about it?
