Window Media Player 10 wont play wmv on webpage

when i am on website that have wmv, my window media player wont display the video why's that? when i tried it with someone else's system, it'll display.. is there a plug-in i need to download or anything? or is there a setting somewhere i need to configure?
 
did you at least try a reinstall of WMP plugin for your browser? I think on the install page at ms's site, there's a test video afterward...
 
can you give me the link or tell me where i can go? cuz i look through the microsoft website and i could not find it...
