in linux, if i double click on the (typically blue part of the window right at the top where the maximize, minimize and closse buttons are, the windows does not maximize, unlike in windows. Is there any way to overcome this? ANy keyboard control for this?

the title bar, yes, thats what i think it is, if you double click it in windows, the windo maximizes/minimizes, in linux, it just hides the windows and shows the title bar, howveer, i like it to maximize, but do not know how.

I know what you're talking about, but you've provided no information. 😛
