winding an ETD core (followup to toroid)

I wound the toroid and tested it - got 2.6 to 3 times the voltage on the secondary, but I'm experiencing a loading problem.

My instek function generator has a 90 ohm output, I'm using a 100 kHz 7.41V RMS sine wave.

At the primary, that voltage drops to 2.22V - it appears something is loading down the generator.

I have 5 turns per primary (2 primaries), and 16 turns per secondary (2 secondaries) on a toroid.

I was told this is an ideal setup for a 100 KHz SMPS that uses a PWM controller and a chopper MOSFET transistor bank. However I might have to add more turns to the primary - and right now the current toroid was a PITA to wind.

However, I got ahold of 4 ETD34 cores and want to wind one just to try it out. But I don't know how to wind an ETD core, anyone have any resources on this? I asked my EE professor - she has no idea what an ETD is let alone wind one.
any help would be appreciated. thanks!
