Since 1990, the Center has released more than 230 investigative reports, including 12 books, and has been honored 24 times since 1996 by Investigative Reporters and Editors, the Society of Professional Journalists and other distinguished organizations. Two Center books received IRE's prestigious national book award in 2003 and its "Windfalls of War" report on U.S. government contracts in Iraq and Afghanistan won the highly prestigious George Polk award (online category) in 2004.
