I just built the computer in my sig and CPUZ reports my CPU is a Winchester. What's the difference between a Winchester and a Newcastle? Should I have researched more and got a Newcastle?

As far as I can tell it's the coolest CPU I've ever ran. BIOS reports 29Celsius with stock heatsink/fan and no thermal paste.

Any recommend a Windows program that let's me see the CPU temperature?

The difference between the Winchester and the Newcastle is that the Winchester is 90nm and supports dual channel unlike the Newcastle which is 130nm. Get speedfan or mbm to monitor temps.

newcastle supports dual channel just fine o_O... if you're referring to a 939 newcastle

edit: in your case you dont really have a choice since there are only winchester 3000+ and 3200+ available for socket 939 (you want winchester anyway :b)
