Winchester 3000+ Compared to P4

Someone asked me what an Athlon 64 3000+ would be equal to in a Pentium 4. Any ideas? They wanted to compare by clock speed.

Yeah, the 3000+ is about equal to the 3.0 p4. You can tell by the way amd names them (ie 3200 would be like a 3.2ghz p4)

Just to let u know stimpy, ribbon13 has been unbanned 🙂

HEY! You linked to THG. Cough. LoL, that's ok. Use their CPU charts feature now.

However, I caution that they benched Winchesters on the KT890 platform. nForce4 vs 925 would be a better benchmark, and so dont be surprised if the Newcastle ends up beating the Winchester.

Also, a 3000+ beats a P4 in most tasks I would say. Furthermore, the 3000+ can hit like 3800+ speeds easily. Wait 2.6 GHz is 4000+ with 512kb. Heh. Ownage. That's FX-55 speeds.

I like the THG CPU and GPU charts better because all of AT's seem to be such a random mix of speeds. If someone asks "how will my 2.8 P4 compare to a 3400+" I know THG will give them some info. AT probably doesn't have a benchmark with both of those, and if they do, it's going to take a lot of trial and error to find it.

Same for the GPU benchmarks.
