Everything else there looked ok, I'd still look for a 3 year warranty. Planar has a "customer first" warranty where they 2day out a replacement and then pay for shipping of the defective LCD. I came across a brand I had never heard of (Sceptre) and some of their monitors looked great and at great prices. BUT, they offer a limited 1 year warranty and DON'T replace LCDs with dead pixels and their warranties aren't transferrable. I, for one, think companies should stand behind their products! It pays to read the fine print!
<< they really shouldnt have to replace like a few dead pixels since well people who send their screens in for that, are abusing the system... >>
What? Although I agree a dead pixel isn't the end of the world, if I pay $600 for a 17" LCD ... I'm not going to stand dead pixels. Maybe, over time, but not within a year!
<< ... and driving up costs for the rest of us. >>
I think that's a little backwards! If the prices are driven up too much, people won't buy them. Which will force the manufacturers to make better products and at cheaper prices!!!
