when i tried winamp5, i got pissed off that it took longer than winamp2 to load, so i went back to 2.91. today, i was tipped off to winamp5 lite, and i was pleased to find it loads quickly and is the same goodness as 2.91... none of that strange shape skinning crap either.

but heres the thing: if winamp5 is based off winamp2, with added media library and skinning ability, and winamp 5 lite is 5 without the media library and skinning... what have they done with it? i see theyve changed the first song shuffle bug, which is a plus... but what else did they change, for better or worse?

Not sure, but I'll moved on to WA5 with classic skins and a minimal interface....and I never thought I'd quit using v2.91.

if you dont use the modern skins you should give 'lite' a shot. it loads up quicker.

Queueing of songs? Doesn't all versions of Winamp allow this??

I used WA 2.80 then lost the setup file or something one format so I moved on to WA 2.90. :) I even gave WA 5 lite a try but it didn't seem to offer anything over 2.9, so I use 2.9, but like the OP, if anyone has any convincing reason to use 5 lite than I would probably give it another go.
