Sweet. I hadn't even heard of Winamp5 until now. With almost a year since the last Winamp3 release, I was starting to think that they had dropped the ball on upgrades altogether. Nice to see they're reusing the stable core of Winamp2 and not just wiping the crap off of Winamp3 and calling it 5. :D

is it me or does the music seem softer... less spectrum...

Im running Audigy2 ZS with Stereo surround filtering on, I swear it sounds better on Winamp3

Dunno what you mean... my version of Beethoven's 7th symphony has parts that are nearly inaudible, and parts that will blow out your eardrums... the dynamic range is fine.

i ran 7th symphony off a CD I had and those mid level sounds just didn't sound right. I don't know why, it may have to do with my sound card's calibration settings, but i now set the equalizer to give a mid-to-high range boost and its fine. I have Altec Lansing 251 speakers btw.

Check your equalizer... mine started on a really weird setting.
