Winamp....versus...........itself.....

I dont think ANYTHING could be as bad as Winamp 3. I think I use WA 2.4 or something, as the older Winamps had a much better MP3 compression engine then the newer ones. Although, it was possible to download an add-on MP3 compression codec for Winamp and use it as a plug in. Not that I really use Winamp to make my MP3's but still.....
 
Why is version 4 always skipped ?! I've come across 3 apps within the last 5 years that went right from 3.x to 5.x. What's with people not liking 4 ?

They skipped it since 3 was such a flop, they wanted to get as far away from it as possible.

Its also apparently a merge of the nice features of both 2 and 3, therefore number 5.
 
I use winamp 3 just cuz it is newer but i HATE it!!!!
I prefer olver 2.x, I think i enjoyed 2.4 or was it liek 2.4b something like thatt the most.

Where are you guys getting 5 beta!?!?
 
winamp 5, RC8 is now out...just came out yesterday....good stuff..

Winamp 5 skipped over Winamp 4 because 2+3 = 5 - the stability and low mem use of version 2, with the new graphical features of 3....

as for the location of where to get winamp 5, just do a google search, there are tons of links to it....
 
winamp 5 beta 2 is better

and i used winamp 3 from when it came out till when winamp 5 came out. i eally have never understoon wht you all hated it. it plays mp3s the same way but has sweet ass skins like MMD3 and Corner amp thoes 2 skins make it worth useing. multipial playlists is sweet also. i miss that in 5

not that it makes a HUGE diffference but older versions have crappy MP3 decoders. makes your audio sound crappy/
