Winamp randomly "stops"

Hi, I'm having a weird problem with Winamp, it seems to be randomly "stopping" for some reason. A song will be playing, and it'll be halfway through the song and suddenly just stop, it'll still say the position that it stopped at, but it's not paused. If you click play and let the song start over, most of the time it'll then play the whole song. This only seems to be happening every 3-4 songs, so it's not at all consistent, and it's not at any consistent point in the songs that it stops at either. Has anyone seen this before?
Any ideas?

Do you have your monitor settings set to "Turn off monitor after:" say 15 minutes? I get a similar problem but it is only when my monitor goes into Power Save mode.

Yes, I have that enabled, but this is happening more frequently than that's set for, and it happens when I'm sitting there working.

What sound card are you using? My friend had the same problem (except he used Sonique), and he was using the onboad audio of the Soyo Dragon MB. When he got a SB Audigy the random stopping went away.

The comp I have at work is a Dell P4, and it has an integrated sound card, SoundMAX something or other I think.
I'd probably void the warranty if I opened the case, not to mention that they wouldn't pay for a new sound card, not to mention that I'd probably get in trouble if I did that. :p
The weird thing is, it worked fine for quite a while, this just recently started. The only thing I can think of that I've done recently is update DirectX to 8.0, and then I just updated it again (the problem was already happening though) to 8.1. I was actually hoping that would fix it, but it didn't. Tomorrow I'll try setting winamp to use wave output instead of directsound. I'll miss having independent volume control for winamp though.

In Win2k? I suppose anything's possible. I'll check that tomorrow. One would think it would either work or not work...
