Winamp Questions....

So whats the concensus on Winamp these days? I havent used it in about 2 years, but I'd like to check it out again. I thought I remember hearing that it was adware integrated into it now. True? Anyone use it these days? Like it much? What're the new features?

winamp 5.04 pwnz j00. i love it. if u want just plain old interface w/o much resources being used, use 2.91. but i like the 5.04. just a few more megs of ram.

yes, 5.04 is great.

you can use the "classic" (2.xx) skin on 5.04 and it uses less resources.

version 3 was godawful.

i just got 5.04 full/free. i installed it, set it to use my old skin and dont notice a difference except for increased memory usage. not that much, only 2-3 mb. i was using winamp 2.91 before. if you use the "modern skins" to have it look all funky, it can take up to 30mb of memory. the new default modern skin is nice, but i dont think winamp needs 20 extra mb just for display. personally, i play and hide the window.

summary: looks the same (if you want it to) and i dont find any new features that i am likely to use.
