When using Winamp I can listen to all my MP3's etc, but put in a CD and it will auto-play using Winamp but no sound?

When I try using Windows Media Player/CD Player etc it's fine?

What gives?

stupid question, but do you guys have a connector from your soundcard to you cd-rom drive? If not, you can't hear audio from a cd

Go to device manager, and try checking "Use Digital Audio" under your CD drive's properties. Not sure if that will help, but worth a try.

OK Pugh,
go here and get the latest driver - I'm using Win ME not that that should make any difference really for Winamp.

All the cards are basically the same - it's only the software that varies.
My card is the SBLive "Digital Entertainment" - basically no frills with digital output built in

The file is an "auto-update" type - very easy to install (famous last words - hehe) hopefully it will be the same for you.

Let me know how you get on :)

The file I DL'd was called SBLWMEDrv and it's 5.19 MB (5,447,875 bytes) - hope you are on cable/DSL

Well I might be able to play CD's thru Winamp - but bloody hell - Counterstrike is forever locking up on me now - think I might just need to uninstall ME Liveware.....just go back to the drivers.

Still not working?
Guess the next step is uninstall the card and re-install the drivers?
Or perhaps just use a different player for CD's...

I had this similar problem before. I found the thing that was a problem. You have to go the preference for winamp and for input plugin, select the CD in plugin. It worked for me. Good luck to you all.
