Winamp playing videos?!

How do I stop winamp from playing videos (Avi, mpeg, etc)?

I've gone in, and changed the file types to play with media player, but they seem to end up resorting back to winamp.
Is there any way to DISABLE/REMOVE the video plugin within winamp 2.95?

 
make sure you disable the option in Winamp "Preserve File Associations". Otherwise everytime winamp gets run it will take back the file associations
