Winamp no workie

Winamp was running fine and then I hit the next track button and now it don't work. It just cycles through the songs as if the file no longer exists. I tried recreating my playlist but that didn't work. And also this is winamp3. I haven't made any major changes to the rig aside from upgrade to sp1 and updating office xp to sp2.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated
 
and just checked windows media player doesn't work either. It tries to download a codec from the server and gives me an error "error downloading codec" .
 
reinstall, usually when it cycles it means it can't find the songs where you specified or else it's in some format it won't play
 
The problem is fixed. I reinstalled it. but I don't know if that's why it works. It worked after a reboot. Why didn't I try that. Anyway thanks for the help
