Winamp + line in = visualizations?

can Winamp use my sound card's line-in to make visualizations?

specifically, i want to get Winamp 5.08e to take music from my turntables and make visualizations via MilkDrop.

ok... i tried Play -> URL -> line:// and Winamp crashed... endless loop. i then tried Play -> File -> line:// and that did nothing (The above filename is invalid.). so... what do i have to do?

I just tried it with Play -> URL -> line:// and it worked fine (with 2.91 at least), not got 5.x installed to try it, not sure why they'd change it...!
