OK, I'll admit that I've never had to do this before. I've ripped hundreds of CDs to MP3 files, etc, but this is different.

I've got a CD full of music encoded to WinAMP files. I want to put them on a CD in CD format so I can play it on my Walkman.

I tried EAC, but it can't read the CD. Suggestions, please.

uh. . move the files to your hdd and then use eac to decode them. The reason EAC wont read the cd cause it's a data cd and not an audio cd.

Though you can directly decode the files from the cd drive to hdd, it's prolly better to keep the files on the hdd and then delete them when you are done. Other wise winamp can only rip them as fast as your cd drive can spin and give data to the computer.

Um....I can't figure out how to get the files INTO EAC from my HD. I don't see any "load from" options...all I see is the drop box that shows my optical drives.

Help.

*edit*

OK, I found Tools/Process .wav and it lets you browse your system for files. But these aren't wavs yet...they are winamp files. So, still help. :(

Not working. EAC only looks for .wav files. It doesn't "see" any others...no way to tell it to look for others, either.

Help.

What exactly is a WinAMP file?? I didn't think it had its own file format, I thought it was just a media player.

MichaelD: Are you saying that you want to make an audio CD from MP3s?
if so, you can use Nero (or any other CD burning software) to make an audio CD. It will convert those mp3s to audio CD automatically.

in winamp, hit ctrl+p to bring up prefs. under plugins/output, chose Nullsoft Disk Writer plug-ing. Set it up how you want. Play the file, and voila, you get a wav file on your hard drive somewhere.

Great! Thanks guys. I will try all these suggestions.

In File Mangler, it says "Winamp file" under the extension column, not MP3. It's confusing, I know. I will try all your suggestions and report back.

thanks again. :)
