Winamp Crashes my Win2K System

I finally narrowed my Win2K system lock-ups to Winamp. It only locks when listening to mp3's while surfing. I hate auto-anything running behind my back so I disabled their "check for new versions" and "allow winamp to report...". Now I'm using Media Player 6.4 for over a week and get NO lock-ups. Any comments are welcomed... Olias

Thanks wolf550e, I was also surprised. I won't bother with debugging Winamp because frankly I don't think it's worth it. I've tried to keep my system up to date and feel that Nullsoft should take some responsibility it keeping the public apprised of incompatibility issues.

Nullsoft constantly updates Winamp so download the newest version. Maybe the fixed the bug that is crashing your system.

Personally, I have never had problems with Winamp under any conditions in Win2K. You have some kind of conflict which hopefully is resolved with a newer version.

I notice that if i disable the Winamp agent and listen to songs, there's an occasional skip when I'm surfing the web, but if I enable the agent, everything is fine. Anyone else experience this?

Problems like that are usually related to IRQ settings. Try swapping sound card and all that. Hope it helps.
