winamp causes crashes within seconds of playing. i have the latest winamp, windows 2000, standard pc mode, sblive in slot 3, lates creative drivers, via 4-in-1's, and det 6.41 for win 2000. What's going on? Could it be my non athlon compatible ram?
Mine used to do that also. It was a while ago, but I think all i did was switch my sound card to another PCI slot, and then make sure there were no IRQ conflicts. Problem solved!
So, try that, and then maybe try swapping out your ram for a friend's to check on that.
I have my sound card in the bottom PCI slot. It used to be in the top, but the top PCI should be reserved for a video card since it shares resources with the AGP slot. Hmmm... slot 3 should be OK.
