Winamp Alternatives?

Are there any decent looking alternatives to Winamp? The bloat that has been creeping in is really starting to bother me.

I use the Windows GUI version of MPlayer for watching vids. No cruft, no missing codecs. It also has a clean, pleasant look to it, not amateurish like some of the open source apps. Is there anything like that for MP3s?

I don't get the "bloat" argument anymore. Back when "bloat" meant maxing some Hardware resource and lead to performance issues it was a legitimate problem, but nowadays WinAmp and many other Apps hardly take up any Hardware resources, "bloated" or not.

The stock install is pretty plain looking but it's highly customizable if you care to take the time to do it (I haven't bothered).

Not so much the resource usage, but the unnecessary extras. Bundled MP3s from no-name artists, useless plugins, too many features and support for components I don't need. I just want a basic MP3 player, not the Swiss Army knife of media players.

Bloatfree alternatives thread

• Music player with music playlist / library built in
• Do a custom install and install only the plugins that you need and disable visualizations
• 13mb memory footprint while playing stairway to heaven (in 320kbps MP3 format) and displaying my 2500ish song music library

you realize you can do a custom install and not install most of that

and even teh full install only takes up like 12 megs
