the only program to send my 'puter into safe mode ! 2 major crashes and this system is amazingly strrong and stable.

winamp 3 also blew. loved and should never have parted with winamp 2.x. opinions as to which 2.x was the best ever ?

was it one of the 2.6s ? 2.60, 2.62, 2.65, 2.66 ?

also, can someone please direct me to the plug-in which provides song id off some internet database ?

You have a crazy system then.....it has worked flawlessly for me on everything form old legacy boxes to the newest stuff out there. Sorry you had problems as it is a nice product.

oh that was clever. NOT. you know, if a piece of software works perfectly for millions of people worldwide, and it doesn't work for you, then it's YOUR FAULT

I've been using 2.78 for years, I haven't had a problem with it, so I don't feel the need to upgrade it.

personally i liked 3 more then 5. i dont use the media lib in any of them. but wa3's skinability was 100000000x better then 2.x and it had multipial playlists/ wa5 doesent have them but it has transparency which is cool

me and all of my friends have tried each version. We all agree two is the best. I really dont give a fvck what these "millions" of people think. How the fvck could I be doing anything wrong. I install the fvcker and it gives me an error when I start it. I am stick with 2 cause it doesnt flip me shlt. My opinion is that the other suck. If you cant deal with go play a romping game of hide and go fvck yourself.

i loved one of the 2.6s. can't recall which - damn it

i never tried 2.91, but will now. 3.0 was very bloated and crash prone.

thanks for your opinions.

but does anyone know which plug-in helps id songs off an internet database ? i know 5.0 had it, and
the older version i was familiar with.

I like 2.76, I havent tried anything newwer. It took me several years to upgrade from 1.x to 2.x, I won't touch 5.x for at least a year or two.

the best, based on what? winamp 5 doesn't crash, it sounds just as good as 2.0, there are more features, the skin features are much better (functional, too), and it looks much better.

might be this? probably not.

I have yet to have a problem with version 5.0, from the pre-releases to the final version.

In my opinion, if you can't get it to work right on your system, two words:

USER ERROR!!!!!!

Other than it being a bit slow compared to 2.91, I haven't had any issues and like the interface that much more.

I'd recommend QCD... it uses fewer resources, has better sound quality, and built-in gracenote/cddb capabilities

3 was a great idea...but I don't want my winamp to take as long to start as WMP9!
5 is nice...all the 2.x goodness that I can find, and new skins *if* you want them.
