Change Log:

Winamp 5.07:
* Critical Security bug fixed in in_cdda.dll and .m3u handler
* in_mp3 & in_nsv should work on Win95 again
* Proxy settings work again
* Installer fixed so that read_file.dll is installed always with mod support
* Version number should be properly reported by IPC_GETVERSION for this build

{EDIT} When upgrading winamp do you guy just over write the provious install, or do you uninstall the previous version first then install the newer one?? just curious{/edit}

i haven't used Winamp 5.

i used WInamp 2.91 for a really long time.

i now use Windows Media Player 10, which works really well, IMO.

Aside from eyecandy, does winamp 5 hold any major advantage over WMP10?

I like the playlist feature... jump to... like a playlist within a playlist.

winamp 5 is actually really good software. 3 was absolutely horrid, i stuck with 2.91 for a long time. 5 however works really well.

still got 2.91

I tried 5 a while ago, resource hog IMO, same with WMP, WMP SUCKS. takes too long to "connect to media" or what ever the msg was

i like 5. i used 2.91 forever and ever but upgraded to 5 for some reason. It only used an extra 3 megs of ram for me. Wmp is too big for me i like winamp off in the corner with just thoses two little bars.

Since 5.07 is released due to a security isuue, I would not simply over-write the 5.05 installation.

Any program with a known security flaw should be uninstalled, followed by removal of any residual registry entries, folders and files - and empty the recycle bin. Get it the hell off your machine.

Then install 5.07.
