i've got 2 systems, one on 98, one on ME, both are great and i have no problems with either, but for games & surfing, seems support is still better in 98se and there are some cool programs that won't run in ME, tetrinet for example = ) ... he he

I'm using Win2k for surfing and games
I play Age of Kings, CS, TFC, a bunch actually. Make sure your hardware is compatible if you decide to use Win2k though.

I'm a pretty hardcore gamer and I use 2k. It hasn't NOT run a single game I have thrown at it. You just won't be able to play any DOS games (mostly older games and emulators like Nesticle, ZSNES, and others), but then again you can always use an old dos boot disk or a win98 boot disk to play those games. Works good for flashing BIOS's that NEED to be in DOS mode.

Just make sure your hardware is compatible with 2k.

Win2K is oh so smooth and sweet. Use it once and you're hooked.

I know I am!! (But I can't afford it atm, so I use my mate's PC).

It makes his 866PII w/256MB RAM stomp all over my TBird 1.2GHz w/256MB RAM in 98SE.

EDIT: In terms of how the OS "feels" ;)

If your hardware supports it I would go with Win2000,I have not seen any of those "blue screens of death"since I installed on 12\25\00:) I love it.

If you're building from scratch, build it AROUND windows 2000. You Want windows 2000.

I'm going to be building from scratch as well, and will definitely be using win2k. I had ME on my laptop, and I hated it. 2k runs well on it (333MHz PII).

Win2k all the way!

I just upgraded from Win98SE to Win2kPro this past weekend.

Haven't had a problem yet!

Runs all my programs, desktop apps, programming stuff, games. All of it.

Win2k rocks :)

I don't know why people want dual boot. I guess it's hard to let some things go (9x).

hehe
