Hey All -

Hope you are having a nice weekend. I'm working on a system that is having trouble rebooting. Shuts down just fine and whenever I restart or reboot it will just hang at a black screen and my monitor will turn off and go into standby. When the reset button is pushed it will restart every time. Any ideas? Here are the system specs below - Thanks!

AMD 1.33
ASUS A7M266
256 DDR
Matrox G450
Win98SE
Aopen 52x
etc.....

I tried that, no help. I noticed another post from someone having similar problems with the asus a7m, anyone heard problems with this board? Trying to get the latest bios stuff but the ftp is down.

Usually when your computer goes into standby and hangs, if you restart it, Windows will come back with this message saying "the last time you went into standby your computer stopped responding. Would you like to prevent it from going on standby?" Click yes and it should solve the problem.

Its not just on standby, it hanges each time that I want to restart the computer, no matter if it is though the start menu, crtl - alt - del, clicking the button saying windows needs to restart.... ?

Might be something in the statup that is not shuting down properly that the shutdown mode would. Try looking in the Startup tab under msconfig and remove some unnessicary stuff.
