Win98se problem

When I want to shutdown the computer I go to start,Check shutdown box then ok and it just hangs in the win98 shutdown screen. Any idea why it wont shutdown properly?

I'm not totally sure but I think it has to do with power management or something.

Hey i made an adjustment to the power settings and heeehaw thanks

I haven't used 98SE in quite a while now, but try going into Control Panel/sounds and turning off the sound at shut down.
