What do you think, would it be better to play games with a Win2k machine? It seems that win2k is better, but what about performance?

Thanks

Depends on A) games you'll be playing, B) which video card you have, and C) how much you value stability. Maybe add what you consider "fast enough" in there.

IF u have radeon 98. If you like EA games, 98. If you have 128 ram 98.

OTHERWISE.. 2k is the best ;)

I WILL have a 1.2 TB with 256 RAM and Gf2pro. it should be enough.

BUT WHY does EA do this kind of things--> games do not run with win2k!! ... no patch!

It's just older EA games.

If you do have a RADEON win2k is just as good for gaming.

Game support is probably more important when it comes to this OS decision. Counter-strike in general is treated better in the Win9x systems.

"It's just older EA games."

Nope..even their newer games won't run in 2k. Undying comes to mind...plus any of their sports games.

NBA 2001 doesn't work with Win2k, although I read that some could get it to run. NHL 2001, Fifa 2001 and Madden 2001 work flawlessly. A friend of mine has a 1.2GHz TBird, 256DDR RAM and a Asus V7700 Geforce 2, and he says that Madden2K1 runs at 16x12 very very smooth..

If you send me a copy, sure, no problem ;)

Well, put the CD into your DVD-ROM or CD-ROM, if you have auto-play activated a screen should come up I guess, where you can select to install the game. Otherwise, you have to double-click on "My Computer" or whatever you renamed it to, select your disc-drive, and double-click on setup.exe ;) j/k

I'm also a big fan of the EA Sports Series and that's really a downside but yeah, money makes the world go round...

I am actually not a fan of most sports games, but the graphics in the Superbike game are really top notch.

NHL 2001 works perfectly in Win2k, but it's a little slower than in win98se. I've tried NBA 2001, Fifa 2001, Superbike 2001, NFS5, and they all work fine. Madden 2001 works, but the loading is slow and there are occasional video problems.

And to answer the original question:
1.2ghz+256MB+nvidia card= Win2K!!! :)

Really?!? Maybe it has been awhile...I will have to try to install Superbike 2001 again. If it works...thanks..:)

I can't get NFS5 to work...maybe it's the Radeon...

Odd, I bought Undying right when it came out and beat it in Win2k without ever patching the game/etc.
