First off, specs:
Iwill kk266-r
AMD T-Bird C 1.2ghz
512 meg Crucial (in 2 sticks)
IBM Deskstar 60GXP 40gb (Running on Iwill's raid port)
Built in C-media Sound...ugh
Radeon 64mb VIVO
Sportster 56k Modem....ISA
Hitachi DVD
IOmega zip 8x4x32
Acer 12x8x32
Antec SX830 Case
Thats about it.
My computer has been running smoothly for a couple of months now. But last night my mom needed to use mine to surf the web, she said that while doing so the system unexpectedly shut down. She rebooted and continued to go surfing, but she noticed that when she would press the IE button on my lauch bar, it would take a minute or two for the window to appear. This is still happening. NOt only with IE, but with any windows such as control panel or printers. You click them to open, 2 minutes later then they open.
Two odd things about this issue, it only happens when I'm connected to the net. If i'm not, the windows open up right away. Second, only windows based on IE do this, all my other programs are fine. And yes Ive scanned and rescanned with norton system check, and scandisk, Ive repaired IE using the add/remove option. Twice. I don't know what to do. I was getting ready to do an OS reinstall in the coming months, but I don't want to just yet. It seems like I have no other options. Do I?
Thanks for your help guys and gals.
