Win98se + IBM tp T22 = pci serial controller problem.

It keeps searching for the drivers for a pci serial controller... This occurs on 2 ibm thinkpad t22's, running win98se.

This is an installation from scratch, using all the IBM drivers found on their site, using the guidelines from IBM.

Latest Bios, Bios defaults but serial port enabled. (I need it)

Also modem won't install. (This is probably because of the problem)

Any input appreciated.

the pci serial controller is your modem. load the modem driver for it in the device manager. everything should work fine.
