This problem only happens in Win98SE. I have a GF4 TI200 running the latest 29.42's from Nvidia. As soon as i install the drivers and reboot, it finds one DEFAULT MONITOR, and then my IIYAMA visionmaster Pro monitor. Now there are no side affects to this but it is rather annoying and i would like to get rid of it. I have tried all the suggestions from the previous threads that i searched for and none worked. I went into safe mode and removed both monitors, rebooted, and still get two monitors being discovered. What gives? is this another one of those win98se quirks?

heh, i have been wondering why this happends for a long time now lol, my old ATI Radeon card never did this, but as soon as i upgraded to an nvidia card, it started happening. And it contunued to happen when recently, i bought a GF4 Ti4400....maybe its something with nvidia? ..idk why it does it, but yes, it is annoying, all i do is disable the default monitor...WAIT! i remember there is a way to edit the registry so it WONT detect a new monitor, although, i cant remember how to do it...i would also like to know why it does this. heh, at least it is only detecting 2 monitors, it used to detect 3 or 4 on my comp. anyone know if this happends on any other OS?

This is a problem I have on my sons computer. I have been searching everywhere for a way to get rid of the second monitor in WinSe. He has a 4400Ti with the latest drivers and I'm sure it's the reason why I can't up the refresh rate on his computer. Anyone out there know how to get rid of this second monitor. I don't have it on my WinXp machines which both have the latest Nvidia drivers.

just a quirk because the GF4 cards have dual ramdacs, win98SE sees that as two displays. No ill side effects from it though
