win98SE bootup problem...

I just replaced my motherboard, to an MSI KT3 Ultra2 (VIA KT333 chipset). Installed the VIA drivers from the CD, then was prompted to restart. I clicked no, then installed DirectX 8.1, also from the CD. Then I clicked yes to restart -- now, my system hangs just as my Windows wallpaper comes up, before my icons load. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

If you didnt reinstall the OS and it still has the drivers from the old MB. Win98se sometimes dosent like that. See if you can boot into safe more and delete all the drivers and reboot. LEt the system find then again. Worse comes to worse you will have to reinstall 98 anyway. Ape Out.
