Win98se Boot Errors?

I just reformatted my hard drive and it kept freezing and doing all this weird stuff that never happened before (used to run win2k). So I check the drive for errors and it keeps telling me that its finding errors in my boot area. Plus, I don't have the cd, I used to recovery disk to install this. What can I do to solve this?
