Win98ME - yet a different ShutDown problem (power supply stays on)

Upgraded from Win98SE, where ATX power-supply readily shut-off on shutdown. [ABit IT5H mb?]

With WinME, shutdown now always halts with ye olde classick screen: "it's safe to turn off your computer now". ME refuses to do the next step of turning the PS off. My instinct is to re-do the "upgrade" [ha ha ha, good joke there, MS], but I'll solicit other suggestions first.

Gawd, this li'l pigME went to market too soon: I'm sooo tired of trying to find old features/options that ME has buried under a "new user experience"; ME has slowed program start-ups so much that this old 233MHz editting system has barely acceptable delays (which weren't noticable under SE).

In Win98SE, Outlook Express refused to start; hence upgrade. OE Still doesn't work... perhaps I should just back ME out.

For your WinME ATX power supply not shutting down when quiting ME here is what I do.

I plugged my computer into a 7 switch switch box. After the shutdown screen comes up in ME I simply hit the switch and that turns the power off to my WinME ATX machine. Works perfectly every time. When next time you boot up make sure to turn the power switch box to on again first.
