Win98 - Update won't go away

I get a windows (98se) "Critical Update Notification" (see below) just about every day for the same thing. I do the update successfully but still get the same notification and do the update every time. Any thoughts?

I personally don't use critical update - it takes up ram, and checks way too often, AND requires windows task scheduler to be on. you might want to consider disabling it in the first place, and periodically checking the windows update website.
