Hmm. I know NT 4.0 will do it because I use that all the time.
I'm not sure about NT. You could try going into the add printer screen, selecting network printer, and putting in the printer's IP address. That's only a guess.
I thought Lexmark network-capable printers usually have drivers available that will allow printing directly from a PC to the printer via IP without needing an intermediate print server. Have you tried downloading the latest driver set and poking around?
One cool thing I like about using newer HP printers with Win2K is the way you can just point your browser to the IP address of the printer and it pulls up a web interface that will step you through setting up the printer.
