judgementday 1,
C:\Windows\logo.sys, I think. I think you can use any .bmp file of the right size and name it logo.sys after renaming the original file.

warlord,
Thanks for pointing this out to me. I hadn't looked for this file in Win98. It was in the C:\Windows folder in 95 but I guess they changed it. Thanks

What I found in C:\windows was these two files logos.sys (It's now safe to turn off your computer.) and logow.sys (Windows is shutting down).

Where is the win98 splash booting screen?
I checked C:\ and C:\Windows and it's not there!

Actualy, in Windows 98, there is no file logo.sys unless you have Plus! installed. You can put one there named logo.sys, and it will work fine.

right, I'm running SE, I guess that explains it.

So I have a splash screen that has a moving line at the bottom, like it was a gif, is there any way to be able to store a gif as logo.sys to play durring bootup?

It seems that win98/ME have a generic splash boot up screen built into a system file that kicks in if you dont have a logo.sys file in C:\ directory, but you can create one (320X400, 256 color) and put it in C:\
I did it and it works fine.
