Win98 shutting TOO fast

sorry if the title of this post is misleading. the problem is not that it's shutting down fast. but the problem is that it's cutting the power to the components too abruptly, ie the HD would be spinning, the next second, it's suddenly being forced to stop and makes this awful noise.

and I've put too much time into this comp, it would be a shame if I suddenly install a via 4-in-1 driver and have it screw up 🙁. although windows will eventually get bloated, or rather, even more bloated, and I'll have to reformat in a month so I'll install the drivers then.

btw, except for the few little problems, this system is absolutely rock stable, I LOVE IT! 🙂
