Win98 problems...installed detonator 5.22 on a VIA133A board, now can't get AGP4x

I have just put together a computer, using a SOYO SY-6VCA (VIA133a based mobo) and a Leadtek Winfast GeForceDDR.

I installed the VIA 4in1 4.22 drivers, and then the VIA 4.03 AGP (viagart) drivers (in turbo mode, too). All was well and I had AGP4x.

So I installed the 5.22 detonator drivers (for win98, btw). Now I cannot get AGP4x. Even if I run the AGP installation program and uninstall the AGP drivers and then install them again, I *still* only get AGP2x.

Needless to say, this is very annoying. What should I do?

...thanks

nothing, AGP 4x is disabled when using a GeForce on an Apollo chipset.

To enable 4X with a Via board and Gforce look under
HKLM/software/nvidia/system in the windows registry
1st: right click on "system" and choose "create new dword", name it "EnableVia4X" exactly as it's written between the " "
2nd right click on the dword, choose "modify", change the "0" to "1"
reboot and you'll have 4X AGP
Although some people claim this doesn't work, I've had no trouble doing it under Win 98SE, or Win 2K
Note that under win 2K, the registry structure and keys are different
If for some reason it screws up your system, just boot to safe mode and either delete the dword, or change the value back to "0"
