Every time I run IE, i get a message about IE crashing, and the reason appears to be caused by mshtml.dll file... apparently mshtml.dll will crash if there is bad video drivers.... i'm running the latest nVidia detonator drivers... but that hasn't fixed it :(

any help would be appreciated!

Try and delete your video drivers then restart the machine and install new ones, maybe even download a different set. This is even a common problem with older versions of IE, don't know what version you are running though, but you may look here at this: MS knowledge base article

ok.. this is a strange one... i was using the latest detonator drivers for the video card.... and it was a TNT VANTA 2 16Meg nVidia card.. so it showed as an nVidia card as such...

i got fed up, wiped the OS.. and installed the drivers from the 'driver restoration' cd that came with my PC... now it shows as nVidia GeForce 256... and pretty stable too
