I have win98 first edition but always updated from Microsoft. Lately when I empty the recycle bin I need to ctrl-alt-delete to end task the recycle bin. It always locks up and says it is not responding. It started this the other day and I can't recall anything new I have installed. Besides that I have no problems and I really don't want to go through a complete install of win98 just for this annoying problem while everything else works fine. I have had it running on this pc for around 4 months. It's a PIII 1gig, 256mb ram, IE6, Dx8 and tell me if you need more info on the pc. Thanks :)

Got a sure-fire cure for ya:
Empty your Recycle Bin by right clicking and emptying it from there :D

If the rightclick-empty trick doesn't work, try firing up sfc (start > run...), assuming you have your original windows CD, and see if it finds any corrupted system files. This trick worked for me when explorer.exe kept crashing all the time.

Thanks Josh, that seems to have fixed it. I haven't had any problems since I ran sfc, I'll keep that in mind the next time I have problems. :)
