Win98 PCMCIA Card weirdness

I have a Lucent Orinoco Silver PCMCIA card (with its PCI adapter) in Windows98. Every other time I boot my system the driver for the card does not load. The remedy is to unplug the card and plug it back in. Afterwards I have the card working in 98 but this gets very annoying...

My roommate has the same card and adapter and he does not have this problem. I've even tried swapping cards and adapters, so it probably isn't a hardware issue. Any ideas?

have you also tried doing a google search for your model? perhaps there are special drivers written by private or 3rd parties

I have searched around for issues related to my problem, but coudn't find much. I'm not sure if this issue is related to the PC Card itself, the PCI adapter, or a general PCMCIA issue.

Anyone else have an issue similar to mine with other PC Cards, where basically the driver won't load on bootup unless you eject the card and put it back in?
