Opening Network Neighborhood and choosing 'Entire Network' gives me this:
I've looked in the FAQ about setting up a 9x box to a network, and it didn't fix my problem. I'm running a simple P2P network with 2 computers currently connected to a hub, and the other is running Win2k and sees the Network just fine (it only sees itself, but at least it's working)
I've got TCP/IP installed and bound to the Network adapter, I've got the checkbox for File and Printer sharing checked, everything is secured tightly, but I can't seem to figure out the problem.
I tried pinging the Win2k box from Win98 and vice versa, and neither of them can reach the other - it says "Host unreachable", but I switched the cabling around and my Win2k box still recognizes the network, so I don't think it's a cabling issue. I'm thinking the hardware aspect is working fine, but there's something I'm not setting up correctly with my Win98 box. I took some screenshots of the settings and posted them here: http://homncruse.tripod.com/network.htm
Any ideas? Also, do I *need* to choose "Client for MS Networks" as my primary logon if I'm running P2P instead of using Domains? I'd rather use "Windows Family Logon" as the rest of my family would probably get confused. And in case I do, I've tried it with that too and still no luck.
Unable to browse the network.
The network is not accessible.
