Win98 not login on win2k server

I just install a new network. I have a server with win2k, and 2 others that need to access files on the server (database), but when i wanna connect to the server (via network neibourg) it ask for a password. I did share the c drive on the server and gave full access to everyone. Maybe that's newbie question but guess what.....i'm a newbie 🙂

PS: also, one of my pc (a laptop connected to the same network) does see the workgroup and create 1 (the same name) but he's the only 1 on it.... same hub, same workgroup name, but he's alone.???

are you running a peer to peer network on a win2k server instead of a domain? The easiest way would be to set your server up as a domain server and set access rights as you see appropriate, that way if the systems want to access anything on the server the have to log into the domain. way more secure than peer to peer.
