win98 MS-dos Compatibility mode how to turn off

For some reason my win98 is running in MS-Dos Compatibility mode. How do I get back to the other mode which is ALOT Faster.
I don't even know how it is in this mode,.

I'm not sure if it'll help or not since you havent listed your system specs.

But when I do a clean install, mine will run in 16bit compatability mode until I install my HP ATA66 drivers.

Check the device manager & see if everything is using the correct drivers.

hojl,

I think this MSKB article, and some articles to which it links, is just about the best resource on troubleshooting a drive running in MS-DOS Compatibility Mode. If you follow through step by step you'll get a resolution of your problem.

Regards,
Jim
