I had to buy a new hard drive for an aging Gateway computer. I'll eventually buy a new PC, but the money is a little short right now. The HD is an 8.4GB Seagate....I had to go for the 8GB b/c it is the max the hard drive can support. I installed it without a problem and loaded WIn98SE onto it.
Here is the problem, Windows only recognizes the drive as a 503MB drive?!?! I check in the BIOS and the autodetect settings are correct. I also looked for solutions at Seagate and MS, but nothing came up. So if the BIOS sees it as 8GB, why isn't windows recognizing it? Any thoughts or solutions for this?
