Win98 Clock losing time!

My Windows clock loses about 15 minutes per 24 hours. Does anybody know what could be causing this? Now, my knowledge of computing fundamentals is pretty shaky, but isn't the whole damn computer a clock? I'm afraid this is a symptom of a real problem.

could be cmos battery or could be this. i have also read how some ppl needed to reinstall the os to fix it.
