I'm dual booting 2k and 98, and 98 just crapped out on me and I think she needs a re-install. Will re-installing 98 overwrite the boot sector and screw me (i.e. not let me boot in 2k)?

Thanx,
DV

A reinstall of Win98 will over-write the boot sector.

The easiest way to restore the boot menu, is to take a copy of boot.ini as it is currently and put it in a safe place.

Reinstall Win98, then copy boot.ini back to C: (if everything was wiped from C:). Boot up from the Win2K CDROM and select Repair. Select "Inspect boot files" or something like that and let it do its job. That will restore the boot menu.
