Win98 and cd-audio problem

When playing cd-audio using the standard player in Win98 SE I only get sound from one channel (usual the left). A strange thing is that this is also appleciable after a reinstall. The strangest thing is that when playing from the player my headphone plug on the cd is also muted on the right channel. I'm using the digital output from my cd-drive to connect to the soundcard.
I don't have this problem in W2K

Thanks in advance

UPDATE: The problem is also there when using Winamp to play the cd's

Final Update: Yes! I got it working now. I had enabled dma mode 4 in the bios for my cd rom drive. adjusted it to mode 2 and now it works just fine 🙂 🙂🙂🙂
