Win95 ---> Win NT upgrade - can it be done?

Hello. I have to upgrade a couple of PCs from Windows 95 to Windows NT. I would like to keep all the installed programs that I have in my Win 95. Can I upgrade from 95 to NT ?

What will happen if I tell Win NT to install itself in the Win 95 directory ?

that probably pretty doubtful... quite a jump....even if for some odd reason it worked it would never work well

Nt 4 cannot upgrade from 95, all it will grab are the progman settings from Win311 so you'll have to reinstall everything anyway. NT 5 should, but I've never personally tried it.

Instead of upgrading WIN95, install WINNT on your system too. I mean have dual booting will be the best answer, if your HDD space permit it
