Shadow926,
Relative performance of Win95 vs Win98 will depend upon your system. A 120 MHz Pentium is a reasonably good Win95 performer, but will be dead slow under Win98 or Win98SE. Win98 is bigger, probably more robust and stable for most people. But I've seen Win95 systems (OSR 2.x, NOT the original version) which had been tweaked to work as well as Win98. Win98 has some nice maintenance / tuning features like SFC and MSCONFIG that are sadly lacking in Win95. But you can get a lot of the startup items control functionality provided by MSCONFIG in an applet that will work under Win95. It's called Startup Control Panel, and is available
here. If you decide to get that utility, you'll probably want to get the executable version rather than the Control Panel applet. The Control Panel applet has to have the "new" style Windows installer on the system.
Of course, if you need support for newer hardware (particularly for USB), then Win98 or Win98SE has it all over Win95, despite the USB support that was added later on.

Jim
